That way, the leaves stay dry which helps keep fungus from forming and you use less water as well.
Gardening is SO subjective as well based on what you are growing, where you are growing it, and how you are growing it.
You can spend hours and hours on a large garden if you want to, or just a few minutes a day and some days no minutes at all on a smaller low-maintenance setup, but I would definitely suggest starting small for beginners.
